Samia Tawwab has completed her MA & PhD in Italian Studies, at the University of Toronto. She has been teaching Italian language, linguistics, and literature at U of T since 2007. Over the last five years, she developed interests in the English learners’ needs in the classroom and has taught academic writing at the Department of Writing -York University and at the Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre at the University of Toronto Mississauga. Samia is an Ontario certified TESL Trainer and has assisted in the training of two cohorts of ESL Chinese Professors, at UTM. Samia has completed her MEd at York University, focusing her research on language teaching and learning at the post-secondary level. During the last two years, she has also taught two iterations of Teaching English in International Contexts, at Faculty of Education, York University. She joined DLLL two years ago and has since taught ESL and Italian courses. Samia is very excited about her new position as a Sessional Assistant Professor with the Italian Studies Program, at DLLL.
