Dr. Anirban Kar (Anir) is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, in the School of Administrative Studies, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies, York University. He joined York University from Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University, where he was inducted into the Teaching Honour Roll.

Anir's primary research interest is in great places to work, work meaningfulness, callings, cross-cultural management and alternate ways of organizing. Anir is currently also doing research about pedagogy of students’ teamwork and working on a few other research projects in the areas of retention, empathy, and cross-cultural management, trust and leadership (GLOBE 2020).

Prior to making a career change in academia, Anir worked as an auditor, an accountant, a finance manager, a strategist and an entrepreneur, over a period of 14 years, in agriculture, steel and telecom businesses.
