Dr. Haiping Wang conducts empirical studies on financial accounting, especially on the impact of financial reporting in the context of fair value accounting in relation to the capital markets, institutional ownership, earnings management and accounting conservatism. Her research helps further the understanding of the potential consequences of different accounting policies and develop students' critical thinking skills in her teaching. She has publications in a number of academic journals including Advances in Accounting. She holds a PhD in Accounting from a joint program offered by Concordia University, McGill University, University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM), and HEC Montreal.
