Dr. Ingrid Splettstoesser works and studies in a multi-disciplined area that requires knowledge of accounting, auditing and information systems. This blend has resulted in Ingrid’s areas of expertise as including information systems auditing and the governance, management and control of information systems. Her research is case-based, and in the coming year she will be teaching "ADMS 2511 Management Information Systems" and coordinating "ADMS 4511 Strategic Management of Information Systems."
Her educational background shows this eclectic blend -- there are degrees in mathematics, psychology, business with an organizational behaviour minor, the PhD in management sciences from an engineering school. The designations demonstrate the applied directions of Ingrid’s focus, showcasing why many of her publications are based on real-world cases that are published in either research journals or one of the textbooks that she co-authors. Professor Splettstoesser’s current research interests build on this background. Ingrid is exploring the inter-relationships between information systems strategy, regulations/regulatory technology and effective information systems implementations with a focus on financial technology (FinTech).
