Dr. Ingrid Splettstoesser-Hogeterp works and studies in a multi-disciplined area that requires knowledge of accounting, auditing and information systems. Ingrid’s area of expertise is known as ‘information systems auditing,’ reflected in the fact that she teaches both auditing and information systems.
Her educational background shows this eclectic blend -- there are degrees in mathematics/computer science, business with an organizational behaviour minor, management sciences from an engineering school. The designations demonstrate that the practical aspect of this discipline is also Ingrid’s forte, showcasing why many of her publications are based on real-world cases. Professor Splettstoesser-Hogeterp’s current research interests build on this background. Ingrid is looking at internal control reporting and following up in the public sector, focusing on Auditor General reporting.
