Approach to Teaching
My teaching interests lie in the areas of Critical Theory (Marcuse and Adorno), radical democratic theory (Sheldon Wolin), history of political thought and twentieth century political and social thought (Max Weber, Hannah Arendt). Global democratic protest movements (ecological, democratic, feminist) are also key areas of interest in my courses. This year(2016-17) I am teaching the Winter term of POLS 2900, Perspectives on Politics, which is a required second year Political Theory course. At the graduate level, I rotate between three course: GS POLS 6070 3.0 The Critical Theory of the Frankfurt School - Marcuse Adorno and Horkheimer. I will be teaching this course in the fall term of 2017. My other graduate courses are: Critiques of Totality and Democracy, Capitalism and the Political.
