Assistant Professor


Kasim Tirmizey is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Equity Studies, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies, York University. He previously taught as an Assistant Professor (Limited Term Appointment) in Technology and Society at Concordia University’s Centre for Engineering in Society. He held a postdoctoral fellowship at Queen's University's Department of Global Development Studies.

In his teaching and research, he draws upon anti-colonial theory and critical political economy for examining technology, food, agriculture, and the environment. Kasim's teaching philosophy is inspired by popular education and critical pedagogy.
