Bobbi-Jo Virtue is an assistant professor in the School of Public Policy at York University. She is Ininew (Cree) from St. Peter’s/Peguis Community in Treaty 1 territory. She has more than fifteen years of work experience in various levels of government, including Indigenous governance.

To ensure that she has wholistic knowledge, Bobbi-Jo has been working as a helper with traditional knowledge carriers and Elders for most of her life. To honour her gifts and responsibilities she honours reciprocal relationships with her community, both locally and back home. She is a strong advocate and an active grass-roots community member.
