Project Summary:
This project examines within a regulatory/institutional framework the linkages between global financial flows, international migration, and immigrant integration and community development in Canada and the US. Specifically, it explore the roles different types of financial institutions (domestic vs. foreign, mainstream vs. ethnic) play in integrating immigrants into the receiving societies, and the impact different regulatory contexts have on such roles and the resulting outcomes.
