Project Summary:
Project Description:
Employing a social exclusion lens, this research is interrogating the meaning and implications of interrelated welfare policy and labour market changes facing lone parents in three large urbanized regions spanning the country (Vancouver, Toronto and St. John's). Extending relevant conceptual and theoretical perspectives, our aim is to make visible the multiple dimensions of individuals’ experiences of social exclusion (socio-political, economic, subjective, spatial) and bring into focus the relationships among these experiences, the structural and policy contexts that support them, and their implications for the public sphere.
