Project Description:
This study examines the antecedents and consequences of working long hours and work intensity in Canada. Potential antecedents that will be examined include the need for achievement, financial position, job insecurity, organizational and group pressures, organizational culture, and personality, among other factors. Potential consequences include stress and psychological well-being, work engagement, job satisfaction and job performance. The study focuses on selected professional groups such as managers and nurses and has important implications for both research and practice.
