Professor Yildirim earned his PhD in Finance from the University of Tennessee and his MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology. Dr. Yildirim’s research interests encompass regulation, the market structure of the financial services industry and their effects on competitive conduct and performance of the financial services firms.

He also has an interest in investments and corporate finance –specifically in corporate control, executive compensation and their effects on firm performance and shareholder’s wealth. His research has been published in a wide range of academic journals, including: Journal of Banking and Finance, European Journal of Finance, Managerial Finance, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, and Journal of Economics and Finance. Dr. Yildirim has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Corporate Finance, Financial Management, Financial Markets, and International finance.
